SKJÓL BISTRO

BISTRO & BAR

If you feel hungry or maybe in the mood to try our local Icelandic beer, you are very welcome in our restaurant and bar.

Skjól Camping and restaurant was built June 1, 2014 and was mainly a hangout for backpackers that where camping their way around Iceland. As the tourism to our beautiful country grow so did the amount of guest to Skjól and in autumn 2014 we also built our Hostel. Our restaurant and bar have now 40 seatings in a very cozy and homie environment.
Our menu has a variation of fish, chicken, ribs,  icelandic lamb and homemade pizzas. Something for everyone.

If you have made it to stay until the later hour, you might hear some acoustic music being played, or if you have a talent for playing music. In Skjól our instruments are for everyone to play, and don´t be surprised if you hear:

“If you play three songs and get an applause, you´ll get a free beer on the house”

Jarlhettur ridge is located east of the Langjökull in Iceland's Western Volcanic Zone. It consists of two sub-parallel ridges, of varying length and partially off-set, which trend north-east to south-west and constrain the eastern boundary of Hagafellsjökull Eystri.

Laugarvatn

Laugavatn It is situated at a popular touristical round-trip, the Golden Circle and acts as a popular staging post in the area. If somebody wants to go from Þingvellir to Haukadalur, it is possible to follow a track through an interesting volcanic landscape and along Laugarvatn.
